I just installed my copy of Outlook 2003 on my new Vista PC. The
installation was fine, but I get the following error when I try to run the app: "Microsoft Office Outlook has stopped Working" Problem signatu Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: OUTLOOK.EXE Application Version: 11.0.5510.0 Application Timestamp: 3f1380f0 Fault Module Name: mso.dll Fault Module Version: 11.0.5606.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 3f334cce Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 0001f442 OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1033 Additional information about the problem: LCID: 1033 Brand: Office11Crash skulcid: 1033 Read our privacy statement: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?link...3&clcid=0x0409 I installed Office Service Pack 3, and still no luck. I did a Microsoft Update and I have the same issue. A trial version of Office 2007 came bundled on my machine, so I tried Outlook 2007, and I received the same issue. I've uninstalled, repaired, re-installed, anything I could think of. I couldn't find any help using Google or the Microsoft website. Outlook 2002 works fine, and this same copy of Outlook 2003 worked fine on my other Vista PC. Help! |

You cannot have more than one version of OL installed.
You would probably need to uninstall OL 2003, then uninstall OL2007 - possibly uninstall completely the trial. Before you install OL2003 Then you confuse matters by saying OL2002 works fine, so how many versions of OL have you installed on this PC? "Tom" wrote in message ... I uninstall (and reset the PC) all other versions of OL before I install and
run whichever version I am trying to use. The installation isn't the problem. Only trying to run it. "DL" wrote: You cannot have more than one version of OL installed. Do you know where I can get an updated version of the mso.dll file? When I
search on my machine, I see that the file is tucked away in a CAB file. Via MSUpdate, or Office update
v11.08122.0 on my updated Office2003 (27Dec2006) C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Office 11 Perhaps you should check your MS update history to see if it shows any failed updates.
