Default Can’t import my backup file

I installed office 97 last week, imported my PST file from office 2000.
Everything was fine. Saved a copy of outlook backup along with the
outlook.pst files on an external hard drive (J drive).
I installed home premium Vista this morning and reinstalled Office standard
2007. I tried to import my saved outlook files but I keep getting the message
File access is denied. You do not have the permission required to access the
file J:\Outlook Backup.pst.
I tried to import the other Outlook files I saved but get the same message
(except file name and location)
Thank you for any advice you can give me

Default Can't import my backup file

As stated on numerous occassions; do not import or export a native pst file.
Within OL FileOpenData File.....browse to location.
If you still get the error msg, and assuming the file is not marked as read
only then possibly the method you used to save the backups has corrupted
them
