Default e-mail downloads

Just reinstalled Outlook 2000 from original disk on upgraded motherboard,
processor and hdd. Problem is when I open Outlook it goes to my provider
(COX.net) and brings down all my mail, but it also deletes many of the items
upon download. What have I done wron in the new installtion?

You probably have not enabled the option to leave copies of downloaded
message on the server. That's on the Advanced tab of the account properties
pages.

The option is enabled and the e-mails remain on the server. It is in outlook
that some of the e-mails self delete upon dowload and are not in the deleted
folder. I must use the ISP's web mail access to view the lost e-mail.

Do you have any rules? Are you filtering the Inbox view in any way? What
view are you using?

The view is set for messages and the filter is turned off.
