My Outlook 2003 has suddenly started to begun synchronizing files frequently
and when it does it frequently freezes my desktop preventing me from working on other things. I can't figure out why...I tried a system restore to an earlier point when I knew it wasn't occurring - but that hasn't helped. Is there some kind of setting I should be aware of? |

What is it synchronizing with? What type of email accounts do you use?

hi Bill,
It is not clear what it is synchronizing with. There is an icon in the botttom right system tray for outlook that indicates it is synching but not what with. I wondered if it could be the webmail program that is provided by my ISP (???) I'm not sure how to answer re types of accounts - I have one - a pop3 account. But as I said, my ISP provides a web mail account that I primarily use to review and manage spam files. Thanks ~ Robin "BillR [MVP]" wrote: What is it synchronizing with? You'll need to look in Tools | Email Accounts and see what is there.
Do you have a mobile device connected? -- Bill R MVP "Robin" wrote in message ... hi Bill, It is not clear what it is synchronizing with. there is no mobile device connected when this occurs.
I have 1 email account - pop account and email is downloaded from the web account to my laptop. I used the word freezing - but it is more like the system is busy no other tasks are possible until this synchronization is completed. I have a new lap top and am not near using it to maximum..... thanks! Robin "BillR [MVP]" wrote: You'll need to look in Tools | Email Accounts and see what is there. IF you have antivirus email integration enabled then disable it.
Download any messages that might be left on your server with another email account then see if Outlook behaves better. -- Bill R MVP "Robin" wrote in message ... there is no mobile device connected when this occurs.
