Default Cannot open Outlook 2007

Running XP and cannot open Outlook 2007 (new install). I am trying to switch
from Outlook express. When I open Outlook it says trying to migrate info.
Then it says cannot connect to Exchange and closes. What is exchage and how
do I get around this?

Thanks

In Control Panel, use the Mail applet to open your mail profile and remove
the invalid reference to the Exchange server.
