I just bought a new computer with Vista and Outlook 2007. I migrated an
Outlook 2003 .pst file that seemed to have gotten corrupted a few years back and would often not close properly. However, it still worked reasonably fast on my old machine. However, on my new machine, Outlook 2007 seizes up on my while composing a message. It will do this for up to 15 seconds at a time. Whenever it gets done, I can resume typing for a while and then it does it AGAIN. Outlook often says it's "not responding" and is not content to just slow itself down, it hogs the CPU and slows everything else down. I have used scanpst and it seems that every time I run it, it finds and fixes problems. I have exported all my folders to individual .pst files, created a new .pst data file, and re-imported all my folders one by one into the new data file. Still no fix. I've been considering buying some .pst repair utility, but these seem to be specifically for recovering lost messages from a corrupt file. None of my messages ever seem to be lost. My .pst file is only 700MB. Actually, I'll bet it's much smaller, but I haven't compacted it lately. Compacting did nothing to fix my problem. Can anyone help? Is there any place I can send my .pst file to have it fixed? Could importing it into Eudora and trashing Outlook work? Thanks, Steve |

Yes, it is a Dell. I will try the uninstall, but to clarify, should I
uninstall OutlookAddin, Outlook 2007, or both?
