I am trying to import our Outlook Express 6 (WinXP) emails into Outlook on
our new Vista PC. According to the help documentation, i need to: 1. copy the files to the new computer, 2. launch Outlook Express on the new computer, 3. change the Outlook express store location to the directory where the copied .DBX files are 4. close Outlook Express and launch Outlook 5. import the Outlook Express files The problem is that my Vista machine doesn't come with Outlook Express, and the same steps don;t work with Windows Mail. Anyone have any experience doing this? Thanks, Joe |

Once the mail is available in Win Mail, you export to OL
Importing changes dates to the import date, maybe important to you. If you cannot connect your msgs to Win Mail you should post this aspect to a Win Mail / Vista group "JoeB" wrote in message ... I am trying to do the same thing as Joe. I copied all of the .dbx files from
my old computer (WinXP) and put them on the new computer (Vista). I tried to go through "mail setup" and "data files" to change the location of personal folders, but it did not work. It didn't recognize the .dbx files. I know Brian mentioned that it should work for .dbx files. Is there something special to do? And does it matter that there are quite a few files? I don't want to lose the email I have archived. I have consulted the instructions on MS site for moving the .pst files and also this discussion group and have spent countless hours on this. I really appreciate any help! Thanks! "Brian Tillman" wrote: JoeB wrote: I am trying to import our Outlook Express 6 (WinXP) emails into Outlook on our new Vista PC.
