Hi
Office 2007 SP1 - Following install of SP1 I can no longer download pictures in incoming emails. I get the usual prompt to download pictures but when I do I get a placeholder with a red x inside. I have checked the "Show Picture Placeholders" checkbox in Editor Options Advanced (this is off - if set to on then all that happens is the red x disappears from the placeholder). It's also not a firewall issue as far as I can detect. Has anyone got any ideas? I don't mind being prompted to download images, but not having them when required is very limiting. Thanks |

This is a problem a lot of people are having, including myself. Judging by
the discussions, once it happens, it's difficult to solve. It stopped working for me about a week ago when my company downloaded some security patches. I reinstalled Outlook and that didn't solve the problem. This isn't a fix (I'm still looking for that) but I found that if I put the e-mail in Edit mode, then copy the image to Word, I can get it to display there. j "blueboy1894" wrote: Hi Office 2007 SP1 - Following install of SP1 I can no longer download pictures in incoming emails. After sending what I previously wrote, I found the solution in a related
discussion thread. I did what was recommended below and found the images I was unable to see I can now see. The problem appears to be related to an overlarge temporary file folder. Solution from: Tech Solutions 4/13/2007 8:37 AM PST 1. Locate the Outlook Temporary Items folder by opening the Registry and locating HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\O utlook\Security\OutlookSecureTempFolder 2. Navigate to the value of this Key. It should be something like: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK3D\ where OLK3D is some randomly generated string that always starts with OLK 3. Quit Outlook 4. Delete the contents of the folder 5. Launch Outlook Try it! ![]() j "blueboy1894" wrote: Hi Office 2007 SP1 - Following install of SP1 I can no longer download pictures in incoming emails.
