I have transferred my .pst file to a server that's backed up and now I want
to close out my "Personal Folders" from my old .pst location because when I open Outlook it automatically opens to the INBOX in that "Personal Folders" which is empty. But if I try to close that "Personal Folders" out it says, "The Operation Failed. An object could not be found." Is there any way I can do a registry hack or maybe some other way to fix this? Thanks. |

Update your mail profile so that it knows where your folders are. Use the Mail applet in Control Panel. Keep in mind that PSTs (Personal Folders files) on network servers are NOT SUPPORTED and you could lose your data. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

I too have a similar problem - I checked something in my backup pst file and
now cannot get rid of the folder in outlook. The folder is not visible when I open the mail profile. I would normally right click and close pst, but when I do that I get the error - this operation failed object not found. How can I remove this pst from my file directory??!! Sounds like your mail profile is corrupt. Start with a new one. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
