Hi,
Is there any way to turn off Allow/Deny messages from popping up besides buying third party software? This is very frustrating for our users and for the IT department. Microsoft could have made this a whole lot easier to admin. Our software vendors will not change there code.... Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, -- JP |

You can mitigate that with a free tool you can download he http://www.mapilab.com/outlook/security/ . Others may suggest a free tool named Express ClickYes (found he http://www.contextmagic.com/express-clickyes/) but that opens a security hole you can't plug easily. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Are you using Exchange Server? What software is causing it? Properly
written addins shouldn't cause it. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ Outlook Tips by email: Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: "JP" wrote in message ... We are using exchange 2007.
Our software vendors do not want to change their software. -- JP "Diane Poremsky [MVP]" wrote: Are you using Exchange Server? What software is causing it? I followed the directions for implementing the Outlook Security form, but
still gettting the Allow/Deny message. I also added a GPO for Outlook Security Mode to use the security policy from the Outlook Security Settings public folder. I used the Security form from Office 2003. The Allow/Deny message is as follows: A program is trying to access e-mail address information stored in Outlook. If this is unexpected, click Deny and verify your antivirus software is up-to-date. blah blah blah In addition, how do I change permissions for the public folder I created? It will not display the permissions. Thanks, -- JP "Diane Poremsky {MVP}" wrote: Tell the vendor to fix it or you'll find one who has the programming skills to correctly write outlook add-ins. ![]() Then see these articles on how to use the exchange security form: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc179095.aspx http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/esecup/admin.htm -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ Outlook Tips by email: Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: "JP" wrote in message ...
