One of the annoying "features" of Outlook is that when importing mail from
Outlook Express, the default sort date is the date when the importing took place, not the original date received. What I would really like to do is have all mail sorted by the original date SENT. Is there a registry hack that would allow me to do this? Or at the minimum, allow me to sort all mail by original date received. I know I can go to each folder and set them individually, but when you have several dozen folders (or more), this can be a real pain in the . . . ! -- The Computer Doctor |

Instead of importing with Outlook, export from Outlook Express; doing so
preserves the dates. OE's export works much better on email data than does Outlook's import. By contrast, Outlook does a better job of importing contacts from OE than OE does at exporting them to Outlook. Do you want to sort by sent date or received date?
If the problem is the received date is the import date, don't import, export it from OE to Outlook. To apply the same view to all folders, see http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/grouping.htm. modify the fields used for your specific needs. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com.
