I get the message, "Outlook could not start because a location to send and
receive mail could not be found. To add a location, cush as a personal folder file, double-click the mail icon in Windows Control Panel." Can someone please provide detailed instructions on how to do this? One problem seems to be that the screen that says, "Deliver new mail to the following locations " has the entry, "none" and no others to select from. I'm running Outlook 2000 on a Windows 98 platform. Thanks |

Thanks for the post, Milly, but that doesn't solve the problem. When I
double click on the mail icon in the control folder, the folder opens up. That's were the problems start. I selected the C drive and made a new folder in the C drive. That didn't solve the problem. I still get the same pop up saying that Outlook can't find the files to use. Under the Services heading in the properties screen which comes up when one double clicks on the Mail icon, everything seems to be correct. It's the same as used by Outlook Express, and Outlook Express works (most of the time). The delivery dab, under Deliver new mail to the following location, says "none" and there are no other selections available. I think that's the problem, but I don't know how to solve it. Argh, it has been a very long time since I used a non-NT version of Windows.
In Outlook Help-About, what does the second line say? -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact.
