I am frustrated by my inability to get Outlook 2003 to work on my new
computer. I have tried so many things and read many of these community postings. When I try to open Outlook, either with or without BCM, it says it has an external error. When I try to open (through File/Open) my archive file from my old computer, it says the program must shut down. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am out of ideas to try. Yes I tried unistalling and re-installing. I also tried repair. I have loaded Service packs 1-4. -- MK |

I went back and did find your original response. Sorry. I tried the
suggestion but still get the same "unknown external error". -- MK "Brian Tillman [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: "Mark Krause" wrote in message ... When I am asked if I want to open using BCM, I say no and I get a "unknown

What do you mean by safe mode? How do you set one up? Obviously I did not
try that. -- MK "Diane Poremsky [MVP]" wrote: Did you try a new profile? At start menu, Run, type
outlook.exe /safe If Outlook runs ok then the problem is a config file or add-in.
