I have outlook 2007 but previously used outlook 2003. When I changed to 2007
I archived all e-mails on an external harddisk. They are stored as archive.pst. When I try to open them thorugh the windows explorer they do not open. When I try to open them through outlook 2007 it gives me error messages and refuses to open the file. What can I do? With hope for help, Messy |

What error do you get? Have you tried running ScanPST.EXE on that PST file?

How do I do ScanPST.EXE?
The error message is that the path to the archive is not valid. "Vince Averello" wrote: What error do you get? Have you tried running ScanPST.EXE on that PST file? "Messy" wrote in message ... You can find ScanPST.EXE in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12
directory. Run it and follow the prompts to check the structure of the PST file in question. Can you navigate to the PST file's directory from Windows Explorer? Seems odd that the path wouldn't be valid. I'm guessing, possibly incorrectly, that the external hard drive is directly connected to the PC running Outlook. "Messy" wrote in message ... ... The error message is that the path to the archive is not valid. Then you are not specifying the path correctly or the drive has a different letter than it had before. Keep in mind that an archive PST is NOT a backup. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
