Never seen that happen w/out a prompt happening first asking to import the
new accounts found in OE. Did you receive a prompt about importing new
accounts when you started Outlook?

no, in fact i set it up because i wanted it seperate, so i would have
remembered the warning. i set up 4 different imap accounts, and each was then
set up in outlook.

I have seen this happen and it is exactly as neo posted. Somewhere along the line
you gave permission for Outlook to import and to do this

What version of Microsoft Office/Outlook are you using?

Note: If you have installed any Office service packs, please include this
information.
