Due to security reasons, we only allow access to our Exchange 2003 server via
HTTP through OWA via the Internet. I would like to use Outlook2003 configured for HTTP to access this server when remote as well. I've got the client to work perfectly with a HTP hotmail mail box, but when selecting Other, and using a fully distinguished name, it still fails. I tack on the /exchange to the server name too. Still no Joy. I've also tried the same on my laptop using Outlook 2007 to no avail. Am I ****ing up a rope here???? -- Regards, Jim |

To add to the previous post, I've tried putting in the IP address instead of
the DNS address. No Joy. Additionally, we do have a security certificate on the server. This is a hosted solution for our firm, but I do have control over it via our vendors if a server-side modification is required. -- Regards, Jim "James R. Bill, does that mean that the ports and security used by and IE browser using
OWA are not the same as those used by Outlook2003 and 2007 when configured for HTTP ? If they are different, what precisely should I ask my vendor to do? -- Regards, Jim "Brian Tillman [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: "James R. Kaufman" Jim Kauffman wrote in message ... If they are different, what precisely should I ask my vendor to do? I'm not familiar enough with Exchnage to say for sure. I believe the mechanism is different.
