I am able to create a Rule in Outlook2007 in XP with an action to "reply
using a custom template." When I do a "Run Now..." I can see each of the elements of the Rule as it is about to be executed including the path to the custom template (mytemplate.oft). However, when I create the same rule in Vista Outlook 2007 and go to "Run Now..." I see all of the elements EXCEPT the element with the path to the mytemplate.oft. I am convinced (although possibly incorrectly) after much testing that the location of the mytemplate.oft under Vista is not in the right place. In XP, the path is C:\Documents and Settings\Darold\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates\mytemplate.oft. QUESTION: What should the path be under Vista b/c of its new folder structure vs. XP? Thanks for any thoughts on this. |

![]() Looks like I got two different answers. (1) %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates and (2) %AppData%\Microsoft\Templates. BTW, the Rule is to be accessible for the login user only and only on the login user's computer. so, does this make path #2 the right answer, as is? thanks. Those are both the same place so, not, you didn't get two different answers. You mentioned the XP path, Diane mentioned the Vista path. I mentioned a path using an environment variable that will work on either XP or Vista (or Windows 2000, for that matter). -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
