I finally succeeded in installing OL2003 from its original CD.
The latest big update I found was Service Pack 4 for Outlook 2003 and Business Contacts Manager (BCM). Since I have never heard of BCM I assume that I do not have it. Can I still apply this SP4 to what I have without worrying about corrections to a program that isn't there? |

Yes
If you have BCM installed it will be shown in the Add/Remove dialogue "BudV" wrote in message ... I finally succeeded in installing OL2003 from its original CD. It was specifically "Service Pack 4 for Outlook 2003 and Business Contacts
Manager ..." and the download was Office SBMESP4-KB930954-FullFile-ENU.EXE. I have DL's blessing to go. Do you agree? "Peter Foldes" wrote in message ... SP4 for Office 2003 ?? Well, I was too impatient to wait, so I tried it. No joy. It demanded the
presence of Business Contact Manager. So I downloaded BCM, and it demanded the presence of other software, so I've decided to give up the never-ending reincarnation of Outlook 2003 and buy Outlook 2007. No telling what I'm going to find on this new venture. Wish me luck. Thanks for your efforts. "BudV" BudVitoff@(NO)att.(SPAM)net wrote in message ... It probably didn't work because it was for BCM. Outlook 2003 is at SP3 level
(and will never get to SP4 as it is no longer supported.) -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com. The update is described at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930954 - if you
look at the affected files, all files are for BCM. The programs it applies to a Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting 2006 Microsoft Office Small Business Management Edition 2006 Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager == this means "when BCM is installed".
