Default Outlook 2007 Reinstalls

I just installed Outlook 2007 on my new laptop and each time it starts, it
goes through the installation steps. It also starts the installation steps
when sending the first email. I checked all of my Windows/Office updates and
they appear to have installed successfully. I am running Windows Vista Home
Basic edition.

Thanks,

Martin

Just to be clear. Outlook does not reinstall, but rather try to Configure
each time it starts up.

I have the same experience.

I cannot uninstall the trial version I had to begin with so there are two
copies on the hard drive. One the Microsoft office professional the other is
Office Enterprise.

What is the best way of uninstalling the professional? I cannot use control
panel because the programme is reported to be 'corrupted'

Would it help to delete files manually?

Try right-clicking the Outlook icon and choosing "Run as Administrator". Then
let the configuration complete.

Two copies of Outlook cannot exist under the same operating system partition.
Why do you believe you can't uninstall the trial version?

Thanks for the reply, Outlook 2007 now starts without configuring, but starts
the configuration routine when I send my 1st message.
