I purchased the Outlook 2007 at a retail store and have the actual disk with
the product key sticker stuck on the cover on the inside. I installed the program but when I click the program icon I get this message "C:\WINDOWS\Installer\{91120000-001A-0000-0000000FFICE}\outicon.exe is not a valid Win32 application" and when I click okay I get "Unable to launch." No matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall it still won't work. I thought their might be a conflict with Avast but I uninstalled Avast and still the problem exsists. I would like to know how to fix this problem and also if there are any known conflicts. The disc reads alright into the computer. I've run various scans for viruses and malware. I've done scan disc, defrag and still nothing resloves this problem. Also, when I go to Microsoft's web site and enter my product key it says it's invalid and yet I've installed this program before and it still installs on my machine. Thanks in advance for the help! |

Do all of the other Office applications work correctly or is this a
standalone version of Outlook? Did you upgrade from a previous version or has Office never been installed on this system? Which version of Windows are you using? Can you start Outlook in Save Mode? Start- Run; outlook.exe /safe When trying to submit an issue at Microsoft Support, it requests your Product ID and not your product key. Your Product ID is shown in Help- About but if you have a standalone version of Outlook and cannot launch it, it's quite difficult to retrieve ;-) Note that you can also contact Microsoft Support by phone. Support with installing is free and your retail version come with 90 days of free product support as well. -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more http://www.msoutlook.info/ Real World Questions, Real World Answers ----- "madcapfox" wrote in message ... I have a very similar problem. I bought a new computer and downloaded the
original computer with LapLink PC Mover. All other Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) function correctly. The new computer came with Office 2007 Home and Student, that I have uninstalled. The older computer has 2007 Standard. When trying to open Outlook, I get "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office 12\OUTLOOK.EXE is not a valid Win32 application." I tired to run it in safe mode, but get pretty much the same error code. I'm confused.....
