Default Outlook Settings

I somehow changed some settings and can't get them to go back.
1). new mail shows up as read (not bold) and I need to correct that
2). when I attach a file, it now appears in the text of the email like a 2
year old pasted it there, need to correct that.

Your help will be appreciated.

Be careful what you wish for you might just get it!

Just because it's not bold doesn't necessarily mean it has been read.
ToolsOptionsOtherReading Pane. What's there?

Change your format from Rich Text to Plain Text or HTML. ToolsOptionsMail
