If you have Office 98 or 2000, the personal folder can be disabled in the registry, see the following weblink,
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/258277 It will not work for Outlook 2007, but you can change the default startup folder. Go to Tools, Options, and select the Other tab. Click on the Advanced Options button under General section. From here, you can change the startup folder by selecting the Browse button. I selected the Inbox for my IMAP setup because I don't have a pop account setup under the Personal Folder. I am using an IMAP server for my email and it is anoying having all those boxes empty. If I understand your question correctly, you can't disable the use of PST
file(s) for IMAP accounts. 1) You need a PST file to support the IMAP account 2) You need another PST file because IMAP doesn't support the special default folders Outlook needs to function. (e.g. Calendar, contacts, tasks, journal.) "Thomas Esparza" wrote in message ...
