Default connect my notebook computer to recieve my email?

I would like to connect my notebook to retrieve my email and share it with my
desktop. Can this be done. Notebook runs XP , desktop is on windows 2000.
Having other issues setting up network, but would like to set this up if
possible

Yes, it can be done, but you need to set each account, on each PC, to not
delete the e-mails from the server for X number of days or until you delete
them locally; this will give you a chance to download them to the other
computer. I have mine set for the max number of days I might be away from one
computer, which, considering 5 weeks vacation, is set for 40 days (35 +
jetlag days).
In the Advanced tab of the account settings check the last three options:
Leave a copy...
Remove from server after ss days
Remove from server when deleted...
This last one will ease download time on the second PC since you would have
already cleaned-up the junk mail. To clear deleted messages from the server,
run Send/Receive after emptying your OL garbage bin.
