Default Seeking ways to police contact info entry

We have multiple users sharing a contacts folder. Data entry and format is not consistent when people enter new contacts. Is there a way to review new contacts entered in a given time period, such as every week? I could not find a sort feature along these lines. Looking in general for recommendations/best practices for contact entries to be continually updated.
