Default Troubleshoot the Find Contact Box

Hi.
I'm not sure if you can help me.
Issue: My laptop uses msoutlook 2003 and I used to be able to place a
contact name in the "Find Contact Box" on the menu bar and the contact would
come right up.
Now it only comes up if the contact has an email address. Outlook 2003 on my
laptop is used primarily as a quick roladex to call my contacts (I
especially enjoy the use of the autodial feature on my laptop since it
increases productivity by making faster outgoing calls (autodialer) and
eliminates my tendency to misdials).

So I'm hopeful there's a way to continue to use the laptop for contacts and
have an easy way to quickly pull up a contact (even if the contact doesn't
have an email address).

What's strange is when I log into my profile on the server there's no issue.
The issue only occurs on my laptop. Once more if I give a fictitous email
address to a contact, the "Find Contact Box" function works successfully.

Additional info: Windows XP Pro Version 2002, Service Pack 2 is on the
laptop. Contact Properties, "show this folder as an email Address Book" is
checked and "Contacts" is name of address book. I have also completely
unistalled and reinstalled Outlook 2003 on my laptop and that doesn't resolve
issue.

Any ideas on resolving?

Reinstalling Outlook wouldn't solve this. A new profile might, or
removing/re-adding the Outlook Address Book service might.
Was this a clean install of Outlook 2003? Is your information store an
Exchange mailbox or a PST file?

I'm happy to report the issue was resolved.
Simple solution. Though I'm embarrased to report it took me all day to find
it.

Address Book/Tools/Options.../"Show this Address list first:"
picked "contacts" instead of "Global Address List"
This resolved the issue.

There are numerous unresolved "find contact" issues this may resolve as you
read thru the unresolved posts.
