I like to save the firstnames of children of my contacts when they are born,
and Outlook automatically changes the order of the list to alphabetical order, so that I cannot remember their order. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. Add their ages to the front of their names, padded with zeroes (01, 02,
etc). That way the list will be sorted by age lowest to highest "jfn" wrote in message ... I like to save the firstnames of children of my contacts when they are born, and Outlook automatically changes the order of the list to alphabetical order, so that I cannot remember their order. |

Good idea ! or rather with the birth year, that's more stable !
But I still can't see why Outlook should sort ! Regards, JFN "Vince Averello [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Add their ages to the front of their names, padded with zeroes (01, 02, etc). Outlook provides many different ways to present your contact information. I
suspect alphabetical order is what most users want. But you can control the sort view he View--Current View--Customize Current View--Sort You can even customize a view to sort by birthday. Thanks for your answer but I'm afraid you didn't get my point : my concern is
not the order between contacts but the order between firstnames in the children field of a contact.
