I have someone who has lost their contacts in Outlook 2003, he said he didn't
delete them...However, I don't see them anywhere in Outlook.. We're on an Exchange server, are the contact folders stored on the server or the local machine? Can someone tell where exactly I might look to possibly find the folder?????Thanx! |

Every delivery location MUST have a Contacts folder. If your delivery location is the Exchange mailbox, it will be there. If it's a PST, it will be in the PST, unless the PST has been damaged somehow. Try starting Outlook once with the /resetfolders command line switch. Use the Folder List view to look for the folder to make sure it's not being hidden by a non-Contact view. -- Brian Tillman |

Well after further searching, the user actually didn't lose their
contacts...They were referring to the auto complete when sending or forwarding a message. Everything is working fine now.. Thanks for your help anyway though.. I have the same problem, but with outlook express. Update KB911567 messed up
my contacts. If you go to this link it explains things better as to the problem with Outlook Express. I am sure if it happened on OE6, then Outlook 2003 is right up there. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/9172...esto#appliesto "Brian Tillman" wrote: Fred R. wrote: I have someone who has lost their contacts in Outlook 2003, he said he didn't delete them...However, I don't see them anywhere in Outlook.. This last assumption has no basis in fact, since the two programs use completely different mechanisms for storing and accessing contacts. -- Brian Tillman |
