Default saving contact list to a cd

I am currently trying to save 4 contact lists to a cd but it is saying that
it is a read only file. I have tried exporting the information to both excel
and word and it gives me the same response when I try to save it. I have also
tried to copy and paste the information from excel and word to create a new
file but that also gives me a read only file. Any help?
This is for outlook 2000. Thanks!
