When importing my Excel contacts into Outlook Contacts, all my contacts are
sorted by last name. I want them to be sorted by Company. I tried setting the default for filing new contacts to Company, moving the Company column to the first column in the Excel spreadsheet, and sorting the Excel spreadsheet by the Company. Unfortunately, I have to update six different peoples contacts in this manner and and everyone wants them sorted by Company. Any suggestions? Thank you. |

Sorting preferences do not apply to imported Contacts.

Does this mean that I'll have to go into each individual contact and change
the "File as" from last name to Company? Each person has over 1,000 contacts. Thanks. Takodashouse, I had a similar problem, unless your a software expert you can
forget about it. Russ' link sends you off into the dark world of Visual Basic & Scripting. (Custom Forms - in Outlook). Oh Boy Russ, That was a Big Help. You don't have to be a software expert to publish a form and run a simple script, although it's bewildering why they didn't just put the whole thing into VBA.
