I have Outlook 2003. In my address book when I am selecting names to send an
e-mail, it also lists business fax numbers. Is there any way to remove the business fax number from showing in the Select Names window, without removing the fax number from the contact? |

Since a FAX number is a legitimate electronic address, it is correct behaviour for Outlook's address book to show it. If you don't want it listed, you must either put it in a field other than the FAX field or you should modify it so that it isn't regognizable as a FAX number, say by putting an "F" on the front of the number. Alternatively, you can buy a tool like this: http://www.sperrysoftware.com/Outloo...ax-Numbers.asp -- Brian Tillman |

Outlook considers fax numbers to be valid electronic addresses, since there
are many client- and server-based components that can use such addresses. One method to hide fax numbers from the address book is to prefix the fax number with one or more letters (maybe B for business fax, H for home, O for other). If the fax number begins with a letter, Outlook won't show it in the address book. There are a couple of utilities that can help you hide fax numbers from the address book. See: http://www.rsoutlook.com/us/rshifa.htm http://www.sperrysoftware.com/Outlook_Solutions.htm (Hide Fax Numbers) http://www.mapilab.com/outlook/toolbox/ Another way to avoid having fax numbers appear in the address book is simply not to enter data in the fax fields. Put fax numbers in some other (non-phone) fields. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Nikkis1143" wrote in message ... I have Outlook 2003.
