I am importing a list of contacts from Excel into Outlook 2003. I want to
import to the "Nickname" field, but when I get to the "Map Custom Fields" window, it isn't listed. How do you add fields to be available in "Map Custom Fields"? |

You don't. Only the listed fields can be import targets for that dialog. The alternative is to write your own import code or use a third-party tool.

You may find one of our products useful - our mapping list covers more
fields then what is available via the Outlook import wizard http://www.contactgenie.com/cg20features.htm Karl -- __________________________________________________ ___________ Karl Timmermans - The Claxton Group ContactGenie - Importer 1.3 / DataPorter 2.0 / Exporter "Power contact importers/exporters for MS Outlook '2000/2003" http://www.contactgenie.com "LBlake" wrote in message ... If it wasn't for the 3rd party developers, Outlook would be practically
useless. By itself, it's a horrible excuse for a software application. I am downloading Importer 1.3 now because Outlook cannot even import from its own MS Excel spreadsheet into the new Outlook fields I created.
