Default Contacts limitations and not only

1. Is there a limit to the number of Contacts in a Public Folder in
Microsoft Outlook?

2. At what point does the number of Contacts affect performance (server or
client)? Problems: Once large contacts folder is opened, Outlook seems to
hang (i.e. cannot close Outlook)

3. Ability to attach a photo to the contact? Is this available in Outlook
2000?

4. Accessible by Blackberry

5. Any other limitations?

6. Can multiple people access the same Contact folder at the same time?

7. Can personalized mass emailing be done from Outlook? For example, mass
email to ask contacts to verify their contact information.

Our user has created a public foder for contacts and is using Office 2000.
Our Exchange server is 5.5.

No. Limits apply to the number items in .pst file folders, though, so you would have a potential limit of 64k items in an offline folder in an ..ost file.

Depends on the capabilities of both. I've heard of companies with 20,000 contacts in a public folder on a dual-processor machine with lots of RAM.

Error messages?

3. Ability to attach a photo to the contact? Is this available in Outlook
2000?

Outlook 2003 is the first version to provide UI for attaching photos.

4. Accessible by Blackberry

Probably not, but a question better asked in a Blackberry forum.

5. Any other limitations?

6. Can multiple people access the same Contact folder at the same time?

Yes.

Yes. Tools | Mail Merge.
