Never mind. This only applies to the currently supported versions of
Outlook. Use the path Vince posted for Corp/Workgroup mode. For Internet
Mail Only mode, you cannot fix this.

From the Outlook 2000 Address Book Dialogue I can see two "Contacts"
address
list names displayed. Only one is actually populated with contacts data
so I
just want to delete the other. When clicking on the other, I get an
error:

"The address list could not be displayed. The contacts folder associated
with this address list could not be opened; it may have been moved or
deleted, or you do not have permissions."

Can I delete this duplicate named folder or is it an artifact I just have
to
live with?

I have three contacts folders in my address book. Only one is populated, the others are empty. I want to delete the empty contacts folders.
I followed the recommendation:

Tools E-mail accounts View or change existing directories or address
books Outlook Address Book Change
When I get to the "change window" there are three identical folders named "contactsersonal folders". How do I distinguish which one I want to keep?

Delete them all, stop and restart Outlook, then right-click your Contacts
folder, choose Properties, select the Outlook Address Book tab and check the
box labeled "Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book". CLick CLose, then
OK. Your address book should work now.
