Default Lost contact address data

I have outlook 2003 and just installed creating contact information in
"contacts". I also sync some information from another program (Goldmine) and
have wiped out my original contact information. I do a daily differential
backup of files and folders. Isthere a way to restore the contact data I had
yesterday?

Restore from yesterday's backup of your .pst file, which holds all your Outlook data? You may want to rename the existing file so that it is not overwritten when you restore the backup.

thank you this is helpfull. I have in outlook the address folder created
when I did the sync. I want to retain that record also. What procedures
would I follow to retain the new folder (Sync data) and restore the lost
data. Seems to me if I did a restore on the .pst I would lose the sync data.

Thanks

As I said, make a backup of the current .pst file. Then restore the file from backup. Rename both files so that the current file gets back its original name and the backup file gets a name like MyFoldersBackup.pst. Restart Outlook. Open the backup file with the File | Open | Outlook Data File command. You should now be able to move or copy data from the backup file into the current file.
