Default Change how Outlook contacts are sorted in Word Address Book functi

In the Letters and Mailins section of Word 2003, the little address book icon
is linked to my Outlook 2003 Contacts list. It shows the contacts
alphabetically, but
displays them by the Name field (so first name first), rather than the File
As (last name first) field. Is there a way to change that? I'd rather look
them up alphabetically by last name because there are times I don't remember
what the first name is. How can I change this?

Thank you.

Default Change how Outlook contacts are sorted in Word Address Book fu

I'd seen this suggestion from you on other postings and tried it. It did
change the way it's sorted when addressing an email. I got very excited. But
it did not change the order in which the list is pulled up in Word. When I
hit the address book icon in Word, it is still sorted by Full Name. That is
the list I'd like to change.

I have spent hours searching through these discussion groups and the
knowledgebase. The strange thing is that I can't even find that anyone has
asked the question. It seems like such a natural thing people would want to
do.

Other ideas? I posted it on the Word group, but they said they thought it
was more of an Outlook issue.

Wait a minute! I swear when I changed this I restarted Outlook and then
restarted Word and did not see it resort.

Now that I just went back in, it is resorted (by last name!!!)

Thank you. I don't know what I did wrong last night, but it's working now!
