Hi,
I've just set-up a new installation of Outlook 2003 and imported all my emails, contact, calendar etc. Its an exchange email account. Autocomplete in the 'To' field is not working. It is turned on in advanced settings. Is this feature only running form the cache of pre-typed email address or is it from the contacts list ? Or does it not work with an exchange account ? Thanks in advance for any feedback. |

Aloha jsltd,
AutoCompete is not the same as AutoResolve. AutoComplete works off a cache of pretyped addresses; AutoResolve works against your Outlook Address Book (which should include your Contacts folder). -Ben- Ben M. Hi Ben,
Thank you for replying and the autocomplete cache answers my original question. I've not heard of AutoResolve, but this sounds like it will help if it runs off the address book. Can you tell me how to enable it ? I've checked the help in Outlook and searched these posts but found nothing on AutoResolve. Thanks. "Ben M. I've checked the help in Outlook and searched these posts but found nothing on AutoResolve. After entering a portion of a name in the To field, click "Check Names" on the Standard toolbar, press CTRL-K, or tab out of the field. Outlook will either resolve the name or underline what you typed with a red squiggle. RIght-click and you'll get a suggestion list of names. Choose one and Outlook will remember it for the next time. -- Brian Tillman |
