I have a corporate email system using O2K for clients and Exchange 2003 for
server. I have a user who setup a distribution list in his personal contact list. The members of the list are not part of our corporate email, therefore are not on the exchange server. This user would like to send an email to the distribution list and attach his distribution list to the email so that the recipients who also have outlook can drag and drop this to their own contact lists and have the same thing. But, it doesn't quite work that way for all. Seems that some clients receive the email and the attachment that should be the dist list appears to be a blank msg file. I have tested this on my own personal email account and PC that has Outlook setup for Internet mail (not for Exchange mail). When the message comes thru the msg attachment is a blank email. Is there a way to send the distribution list as a vcf or some format so that other can import it into their outlook clients to use? |

Users are setup to only send in RTF format, not in HTML, and it still
happens. "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote in message ... Attach the DL as an Outlook item to a message in RTF format. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "LFM" wrote in message . .. Not to anyone else. I suspect user error. State how the DL is being inserted

Russ, how does one go about inserting a DL as an Outlook item (using 2003
SP-1)? When I start a new message then click on Insert I cannot find an "item" option, even while set to RTF. I tried forwarding the DL as a vCard but the recipient received nothing but a small .TXT file. Thanks, Judy "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Not to anyone else. I suspect user error. Are you using Word as the Editor? If yes, then use the dropdown by the paperclip to select Item.
