You have ruined Outlook by being overly security conscious and preventing MDB
files from being emailed. You have reuined Outlook by not allowing short cuts to be inserted into the text body of Tasks. It is pretty clear that your staff does not use Outlook. I wonder what contact management program they use. I would like to switch. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. I love sassy posts! Good on ya, mate.
But still, they are damned if they do, and damned if they don't right? In this case, these are just defaults that savvy users can override. I suspect many of the Microsoft folks are using Outlook 2007 by now. They may have one VP *cough*ozzie*cough* using Lotus Notes.... "James" wrote in message ... William,
I understand what you are saying. That is their position. However, they could leave a configuration option fo the end user. There is no excuse for making that security decision for me. At least that is the way I think. "William Lefkovics [MVP]" wrote: I love sassy posts! Good on ya, mate. But still, they are damned if they do, and damned if they don't right? Diane,
Thank you for the suggestion. I was able to solve the problem by following the link. The other issue I have is inserting File Links and Folder Links in the text body of Tasks. I used that extensively with earlier verisons of Outlook to save time in locating files needed for projects. Our "big brothers" at MS Outlook have "protected" me from myself once again by disabling that function. Do you have suggestions about how to patch or work around this design by MS Outlook team. I don't think there is a fix fir the link issue, except to insert them as
urls, not objects. Outlook 2007 makes it easy to insert URLs - in 2003, Insert, File, then choose insert as hyperlink from the Insert button dropdown. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Coauthor, OneNote 2003 for Windows (Visual QuickStart Guide) Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: "James" wrote in message ...
