When I export contacts either into Excel or Access, the File As field is not
exporting. Is there a way to get this to export. What I need to do is export the file, modify it to add custom field and import it back and have the 'File As' keep its setting. I am able to export and import custom fields but dont see the 'File As' field. |

The File As field does not exist as a separate data field. It is a field
derived from its separate name element fields. Those are what you export. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Garling" wrote in message ... I don't understand your question. As I said, the information is all there in
the name fields. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Garling" wrote in message ... Is there anyway I can get this infomation out of outlook and imported back in? I exported the data in an Excel and Access format, the File As infomation
is not being exported. I can see the infomation in the fields in Outlook on the main contact screen and on the All Fields - Freq Used Fields. For example, I have a contact, in the file as field I have one item, 3M, that info is not in either export. Hello Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook], I don't understand your question. I already answered that. Derived fields do not export. Their individual
names elements are exported. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Garling" wrote in message ... I exported the data in an Excel and Access format, the File As infomation is not being exported. Thank you but is there any way to get the data in this field, via VBA or
VB, or some other type of script. Hello Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook], I already answered that. Derived fields do not export. Their individual names elements are exported. |

Probably, but that is a question for a programming group. The only code I
know of is to change the File As... field within Outlook: http://support.microsoft.com/default...Product=ol2002 -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Garling" wrote in message ...
