Default Address Book Search Order

Hello All,

My office employees use MS Office 2003 [SP1] on a Windows XP [SP2] platform,
and ee use Exchange 2003 [SP2] for a mail server.

It has been brought to my attention that when our employees compose a New
Memo and click on the 'To...' button, so to bring up the Address Book, and
then they'd click on the 'Show Name from the:' twisty, some of them have
to scroll all the way to the buttom of the list to find their Contacts while
others have their Contacts at the very top of that list.

Is there any way to change it so the GAL can either be placed below or above
the user's Contacts?

I've tried opening up the Address Book and went into Tools + Options and
tried various ways to configure the order, but it didn't seem to make a
difference.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
KidAce.

Default Address Book Search Order

- Click on the Address Book Icon
- Select TOOLS
- Select OPTIONS

In the "When sending mail, check names..." box, select the OUTLOOK
ADDRESS BOOK and remove it.

At this point I usually log out of outlook, but I'm not sure if you have to.

Then go back into the ADDRESSING options (see above). This time
click the ADD... button and add the OUTLOOK ADDRESS BOOK
again.

The order that the address books are added to the service usually
dictates where they show up on the drop down list for the client.

It depends on which service was added first, as far as I can tell.
