Default Can't edit existing contacts - No problems with new contacts

Hi,

my problem is, that I can't edit existing contacts - I can edit the
"characteristics"-field and every other field, but when I try to write some
text in the "characteristics"-field bold or in italics or change the color,
the changes aren't save after saving and reopening the contact again.

When I add a new contact, it's no problem to write anything bold, or in
italics etc.

But I need to be able to do this with all the existing few hundret contacts.

Can someone help me?
Thanks
