Default Contact and Calander unavailable after setup/ import

I recently moved my outlook contacts onto a new computer. I followed the
instructions for setup and moving the .pst file from the link below - right
from the microsoft help page.
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/as...771141033.aspx
All my previous emails and folders came through fine and I can receive
emails fine.
The issue is all my contacts are listed with a 11.0 heading in the address
cards sort option and only the names show up when I click on phone list -
none of the other information that was in each contact. I can only send email
to one of my contacts, all the rest give me an error that they can't be sent,
but I have received emails from some of them. Also everything that was on my
calander is gone but the reminder alerts keep popping up on the screen, so I
know its coming from somewhere. Any Ideas?

Hi, becky. What is the exact message that you receive when you click on the
contacts folder?

Sounds like something wasn't done correctly to connect this PST file.
Could you list the actual steps you used so we can see what might have gone
wrong?
Those instructions are for migrating your entire PST file, and you seem to
be saying you only moved your Contacts.

I misspoke on the inital question. I moved the entire outlook .pst file and I
did follow the directions exactly as they are listed. It is only the contacts
and calander that are giving me issues. I forgot to list one other thing
though. I needed to run some kind of repair program because outlook didn't
see my .pst file as a .pst file. It was a fix on microsoft help , and now I
can't seem to find the information I read. I will keep looking to find the
exact path of that repair. Any suggestions in the meantime?

Not yet because I have no more information.
It would still help me to know the actual steps you used to migrate your
file. That article contains an error which might have caused you to
overwrite your PST file and corrupt your profile. For example, if you copied
your old file into Outlook's default folder, there's a good chance that
would happen.
If you use Folder List view in Outlook, do you see any extra files or
folders?
