Not using Exchange Server

I just recovered my computer data and moved my recovered .pst file into the
location for this file. I first renamed the outlook.pst which was created
when I installed Outlook. I then imported its contents into the recovered
outlook.pst file, and that worked. New contacts, appointments, email,
journal entries were where I expected to find them.

However, if I click on the contacts button in an appointment, or a message,
or a journal entry, or a distribution list in the contacts folder itself, I
get a message that there are no contacts. If I click on the drop-down that
lists CONTACTS I find a second contacts list. This one has my contacts.

There is only one contacts folder in my pst file. No others are loaded.

Ideas? Suggestions?

This is a poor way to migrate data. Always use the Data File Management
utility as spelled out in the Help Files. Never rename PST files and expect
Outlook to figure out what's going on and never import PST files.
If you're lucky, the only thing disrupted at this point is the Outlook
Address Book Service. Just remove the invalid reference to your previous
Contacts Folder he
Tools E-mail accounts View or change existing directories or address
books Outlook Address Book Change.

If you find other problems, you'll need to create a new profile and then set
the PST file you want as your default according to the instructions in Help.
