I am attempting to move my contact from outlook 2000 to outlook 2003 on a new
computer. The old compute ran 98 the new one is XP. Whenver I attmpt to import the files on the new computer I get a message saying that I do not have the correct permissions to import the file. I have no idea what this means. We have no passwords on the system, it is a simple home computer with no bells or whistles. Any ideas? |

First, importing PST files is never a good idea. Too much data is lost. You
should just open the file in Outlook (File Open Outlook Data File...) and copy the data you need from it into your current file. If you are unable to open the file, then you need to provide the information on how you created and transported this file for us to figure out what is wrong. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "unc6362" wrote in message ... What you need to do before following it is to remove the read-only attribute from the PST. That's probably what's causing the "no permission" message. -- Brian Tillman |
