Default Multiple contact folders - how to remove one?

I have Outlook 2003 and have two mailboxes associated with one client. It
seems like there are two contacts folders and the default one has 0 records.
How can I remove that contacts folders so that it does not show up in the
dropdown list to select addresses out of? Every time I try to choose that
contacts folder for selecting addresses from, it prompts me that there are no
records in that contacts folder and as a result I cannot choose anything from
there.

IF I cannot remove the folder, how can I at least rename it so I don't
choose that folder by mistake?

An amazingly vague post. What do you mean by "two mailboxes associated with
one client?" Where exactly do you see "two contact folders?"
If you are trying to say you have an invalid reference to a Contacts Folder
in the Outlook Address Book view, just follow the instructions in the
countless posts on that subject in this newsgroup. If you are trying to say
something else, please do so more clearly.

I have one Outlook 2003 program ("client") in which I have two mailboxes (one
POP/SMTP and one Exchange 2003). Does that clarify my set up?

I see "two contact folders" in the drop down for showing addresses from
address books when trying to insert a name in the "To" field in a new message.

Does that make sense?

A bit. So are you saying you actually have one Exchange Mailbox and one
POP/SMTP account with its own separate PST file?
You can easily remove any reference to a Contacts Folder you do not want to
appear in your Outlook Address Book view he Tools E-mail accounts
View or change existing directories or address books Outlook Address Book
Change.
