In Outlook 2003, fully updated: Recently, I had to reinstall Win XP - the
entire PC, including Office 2003. Previously, when entering new contact info, Outlook would default to the typical U.S. tel number format of (202) 123-4567 and would enter the parentheses, dash and space once the user moved to the next field. No more, since the reinstall. The XP dialing setup is set with the local U.S. area code. What am I missing? THANKS! |

"No more" means what exactly?
Once you set your dialing location correctly for your operating system, Outlook will mask the phone number. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "YJ" wrote in message ... Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. I'm quite sure that before I reinstalled the
PC, when I entered 2125551212 and tabbed to the next field the tel number was shown as (212) 555-1212. Now it remains exactly as entered: 2125551212. I'm trying to have it go back to the 'Before' condition, when I didn't need to enter the parents, dash, etc. Thanks. "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: "No more" means what exactly? Hmm. I must be really missing something here. My dialing location is now
set to my local area code. It was not before. I rebooted and created a new contacat. When entering the tel number, it remained exactly the same, without formatting the parents around the area code, the dash, etc. So what am I missing? Thanks again! How did you set your dialing location? You missed something.
