That's IT!! Thanks 1,000,000 Sue!
Kevin "Sue Mosher [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: I created a Contacts Folder. However, the new Contacts folder (Contacts 2) is NOT showing up in the lower left Navigation pane. But, when I click on Contacts, above shows 2 contacts folders, the old and the new. That's expected, normal behavior. But I can't see how I can Drag and Drop email address in this new folder. I can only drop into the old Contacts in the Navigation pane. ?? Ah, now we get to the heart of the matter. You didn't mention drag-and-drop in any of your earlier posts. It's easy: Drag the message to the contacts button in the navigation pane, but don't release the mouse button. Wait for the Contacts navigation pane to open, the drag and drop the message onto the desired contacts folder (Contacts 2). -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.turtleflock.com/olconfig/index.htm and Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "Sue Mosher [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: That's because a contacts folder isn't a mail folder. The Mail navigation pane shows mail folders. The Contacts navigation pane shows contacts folders. The Folder List navigation pane shows all folders. "Kevin C" wrote in message ... What was throwing me off, is that under Mail Folders there is NO Contacts folder. "Sue Mosher [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Each of the buttons you describe brings up a different navigation pane. What the Contacts navigation pane displays by default is the contents of your default Contacts *folder*. You may also see other contacts *folders* listed in the navigation pane as well. Using the File | New | Folder command, as I suggested earlier, to create a new contacts folder will put that folder as one of the options in the Contacts navigation pane. "Kevin C" wrote in message ... Ok, I guess i'm not explaining myself clearly. Look to the left column of Outlook, on the bottom left of my outlook is four tabs, that go in order, "MAIL", "CALENDAR", "CONTACTS", TASKS". From what I see this IS NOT a typical folder but more of an ADDRESS BOOK. I have a contacts folder which has as any folder emails stored in it. HOWEVER, the CONTACTS tab, which I refer to as an address book has emails, but histories of each email and organizes by name, email, etc. This contact folder is what I use as an Address book to send to groups at a time and or to import into my mail campaign program. I need to create a second Contact OR Address book for newer emails. "Judy Gleeson MVP - Outlook" wrote: Contacts IS a folder. View the Folder List and you'll see it there. Make a new Contacts Folder. Or alternatively, use Categories to separate different types of people and keep them in 1 folder. www.acorntraining.com.au/productivit.htm "Kevin C" wrote in message ... Two different things......Contacts is not a folder it is lke an address book. You can see it under the mail category on the left column. I need to create a second Contact "address book" "Sue Mosher [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Have you tried the File | New | Folder command? "Kevin C" wrote in message news ![]() to. How do I add another separate Contact folder or address book? |
