Somehow I managed to get a line at the top of a table view that is ready to accept new
contact data. Swell, but I don't need it and I believe it is interfering with the automatic search. As a result I keep typing "G" "o" ... expecting to get close to Him, but instead find I am making a new entry. Which means a flurry of picks to cancel it. Sorry for the trivial question, but I can't find the method. rs |

Why don't you just click on the Find Button so that's at the top of your
view? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "tcebob" handle @ gwi.net wrote in message ... Somehow I managed to get a line at the top of a table view that is ready to accept new contact data. View | [Arrange By] | Customize Current View | Other Settings. You should see an option, which you can disable, for a new item row.

Super. Had to turn off in-cell editing, too. Thanks.
