One of our remote users encounters this from time to time sending to a list
of 20+ recipients. She encounteres the 452 too many recipients. I confirmed with our ISP aka the SMTP server that there are no limits to recipients only number of emails per day (i.e. 2,000+) I have asked that she capture the message header from this "system administrator" as it is not clear if it's an Outlook thing. I am sure it's not the ISP. Do any of you use an AV / Internet security product as well ie. Norton Internet Security? T "Dan Noel" wrote: I suffered from this problem for months; I had trouble blaming the ISP because the error message in the In Box came from "System Administrator", whose properties did not include an Email address, because my ISP would not confirm the problem, and because the problem would not occur if I sent using the Email address I had in my ISP's domain. My Email would be sent to no more than 5 recipients at a time. The only way I found around this problem was to simply resend the Email (using the edit and resend commands); the new Email would go to the Out Box, and after typically 20 minutes, would go out again as if by magic, yielding another error message if the number of recipients was still higher than 5. I would repeat this process until all the intended recipients would be covered. Now, to Jocelyn's point, the problem went away when I happened to switch ISP (to SBC from AOL). I don't know what my recipient count limit is now, but it seems to be higher than 20. Hope this helps... The "452" error is a server-side error. It is some mail server reporting back to Outlook. Outlook is NOT generating the message. Now, it may not be your mail server doing the reporting (i.e., your ISP is telling you the truth), but it may be your recipients' mail server if you're sending to multiple people in the same domain. However, I find that less likely than it being on your mail server. I have asked that she capture the message header from this "system administrator" as it is not clear if it's an Outlook thing. It's not. It's a server-generated error. I am sure it's not the ISP. I'm not. Despite what they told you, it could still be they. Do any of you use an AV / Internet security product as well ie. Norton Internet Security? Plenty do, but not I. Symantec products don't seem to get along well with Outlook. -- Brian Tillman |

Thank you for responding Brian. I am creating a ticket with our ISP on this
and would like to quote your advice (name removed). T "Brian Tillman" wrote: Athena T wrote: One of our remote users encounters this from time to time sending to a list of 20+ recipients.
