Default How do I sorting contacts in Outlook by position

How do I sorting contacts in Outlook by position where I determine rank based
on title. Like you can create a custom sort order of a list in Excel.

First up, turn on the Advanced Toolbar.

Now change the Contacts folder View to Phone List. You have a basic table
in front of you now. Use the Field Chooser to add the Field Title or
Profession (wherever you have entered the data you want to sort by) now Sort
that column by clicking the column header. You can take this a step further
and group by that Field as well. Use the Group By Box (beside the Current
View Window).

To email a whole group, grab its heading and drag to the Outbox.

I hope this helps you at least a little bit! AND remember to post your
version next time.

Judy,

Thank you for your reply, however, it is still an alpha sort. As metioned in
my originaL post, I want to sort my a custum ranking not alpha i.e.
CEO 1
EVP 2
SVP 3
and so on.

As can be done in Excel.

Make your Field values read "1 CEO", "2 "EVP", and so on.

Thanks Brian but I need an automated way of do it and I don't want to charge
the original contents of the "Job Title" field.

Has anyone used field formulas to do something similar?
